The Sea Turtles are about to hatch and make their way to the ocean. They follow the moon light. If ocean front homes have lights on, or there are other lights on, the turtles will get confused. They are pretty incredible. Squishy and tiny at birth, they run like hell to get to the ocean. If they do not get nibbled by the predators on the sand, they have a good chance of meeting hungry friends in the water. Only a small percentage make it to adult-hood. If they do, some live passed one hundred. If you ever get a chance to see the Sea Turtles hatch, it is amazing. The Coastal Discovery Museum on Hilton Head is a good place to contact if you are interested in seeing these little guys.
